Rimmer Bros. Announces New Ecommerce Website

Delray Beach, FL, Sept 1st, 2009 – UK-based Rimmer Bros. (www.rimmerbros.co.uk) saw an immediate increase in average order size, with the launch of their new ecommerce website using Ability SmartSite™ ecommerce software.

Ability Commerce (www.abilitycommerce.com) designed and implemented the new website, which launched August 10th, using their Ability SmartSite ecommerce software product. Site traffic and order volume is also up, due to significant functionality enhancements made possible by the Ability SmartSite platform.

The primary benefit of the new site is the full integration of their web data with their order management/inventory system data, which allows real-time inventory levels, dynamic pricing, and improved display of exact order charges, including European VAT charges, and shipping amount based on product weight, shipping location and shipping speed.

Other functionality contributing to the success of the new site includes Ability SmartSite's robust on-site search, automated order and ship confirmation emails, and flexible demographics capture for better integration between web ordering patterns and postcard and other mailed promotions.

Furthermore, Rimmer Bros. can now effectively merchandise their products and create on-the-fly upsell promotions for consumables and other accessories. For example, an easy-to-update marketing banner area in their shopping cart was used to feature disposable workshop gloves as an add-on product. The first week, the promotion resulted in twelve times the sales as the previous average volume for that item.
